"IntelliFinder is a great tool which we use as a simple module of AutoCAD, storing information about our facility’s infrastructure and important data concerning our technical devices. Its huge advantage is that it can be used also by non-technical staff and contractors. I’m sure it will continue saving company’s time and money in the future.”

OUR HISTORY

The IntelliFinder Story

In 2006 IntelliFinder ID software is born out of an idea coming from FiberLAN. They set up Dansk Fiber Optic–a company which sells measuring tools and particular components for fiber optic infrastructure and makes software that can map it digitally. The first version of IntelliFinder ID is designed for industrial Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) with GPS location function.

The next year, IntelliFinder ID is transformed into an iOS smartphone app along with the arrival of the first smartphones, but the optical fiber industry is not yet ready to use an iPhone app in the field.

In 2009 FiberLAN–a company which designs and physically rolls out fiber-optic networks and co-owner of Dansk Fiber Optic–buys the entire company.

During the time between 2009-2014, first big customers based in Denmark start to use IntelliFinder ID to map their fiber optic, sever, electrical, and other networks. Danish railways, main power grit, banks, Danish fiber infrastructure supplier, leading Danish high-power supplier, heating water, central water and sewer infrastructure suppliers, are among this group.

In 2014, Michael Kørschen–a new member to FiberLAN advisory board–suggests that IntelliFinder ID becomes a separate business unit as a result of an internal audit revealing the company’s potential.

 The result?

IntelliFinder A/S becomes the new name of Dansk Fiber Optic on 1. July 2015, after it becomes a separate daughter company to FiberLAN. IntelliFinder A/S focuses on software and Michael Kørschen is appointed as the CEO. A new, upgraded software version, IntelliFinder ID+, is released for iOS.

During 2015/2016 we are working hard on developing IntelliFinder ID+ for Android users. In Spring 2016, the first Android smartphones downloaded IntelliFinder ID+, we successively expand our customer portfolio, and the number of our software users exceeds 1000.

Yay!

2017: We now call ourselves and our software IntelliFinder. We make an ambitious strategy. We get the key people on board, start appearing on industrial fairs and exhibitions in Denmark and Germany, and sign our first huge contract as IntelliFinder A/S.

We get our first customer from the mobile telecom infrastructure segment.  We make a new, upgraded version of IntelliFinder, and we implement new features for our software. From now on, we develop it in an agile manner, continuously implementing new features.

In January 2020, we establish a new roadmap to ensure a development plan that meets the needs of our customers. They are experiencing significant updates and better usability of the system thanks to our constant development and system updates. With our stable network and German partners, we are starting to collaborate with several German customers.

Covid-19 had shaken us. Luckily, the TDC rollout process put us to work, and our system was lifted to the platform which we run today with greater operability and–not the least–higher scalability and reliability.

In 2021, we made further API integrations to other overlying systems and the feature traceability is added to our system. We get our first customer in the Faeroe Islands.

In Q1 2022, three former share holders were bought out and Michael Kørschen assumed ownership of IntelliFinder. As part of our increased focus on the German market, a new board has been appointed, featuring a German board member.

In Q1 2023, we are expanding with new hires and moving to new premises due to a lack of space. Our focus has now shifted towards a more commercial direction compared to our previous focus on the technical aspects.

Things are moving quickly.

From 2024 onwards, we are working hard to enter the larger European market, starting with the establishment of our subsidiary company, IntelliFinder GmbH in Germany with branch office in Norderstedt nearby Hamburg with German staff.

We want to ensure existing and future customers can service their infrastructure more rationally. We aim to lift the great social responsibility: Our customers should not have to work harder. Instead, they should be able to achieve more with the same effort, using IntelliFinder.

PEOPLE, CLIMATE & ENVIRONMENT

We care about the world, with the people and wildlife who live in it

Our customers manage critical infrastructure that improves human life while taking utmost case of the environment, nature, and wildlife.

We will follow their lead.

That is why we are active members of Odense Climate Partnership, contributing to such missions and supporting any initiatives aimed at green transition and sustainability.

… And why we have two employees educated as climate ambassadors to guide our journey towards climate neutrality.

Train rails with IntelliFinder pointers

Banedanmark has been advancing the green transition by upgrading and digitalising the entire Danish railway with new digital signalling systems and by electrifying the tracks. These improvements enable the operation of environmentally friendly electric trains.

In January 2018, we appoint the new Board. We onboard more people and continue to grow to achieve our strategic targets. We win our first pilot project for Deutsche Telekom FTTH.

Exciting.

In 2019, we sign a contract with the major Danish telecom company TDC, which establish fiber to the home connections across the whole country. The flexibility and improvement of our system supports our German dealers in attracting more potential customers into the pipeline. Our strongest market areas are FTTH rollout and technical service management.
